I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
